Toyota Fortuner

The Fortuner is a premium SUV model from Japanese automaker Toyota. The vehicle is reportedly preparing for an upgrade. Car Deco reports that the vehicle will hit the streets in early 2021 and that unofficial bookings for the vehicle have begun.

The exterior of the Toyota Fortuner may be slightly modified with the facelift. It comes with updated LED headlamps, an updated front grille, and a new layout for LED tail lamps, along with LED DRLs. As seen in the previous test run model, it will also get a new set of alloy wheels as part of the update.

The sides change is a plastic wheel arch, a new alloy wheel, and a new doorstep. The rear of the new Fortuner features a long LED tail lamp, a chromium strip with Fortuner badging that connects the two lights, a roof spoiler, a rear fog lamp, and a bumper fitted with a skid plate.

The heart of the new Fortuner is the 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. This engine produces 204 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. The Fortuner has a six-speed manual and automatic transmission. Fortuner also offers two-wheel and four-wheel drive modes.

Expect a larger touchscreen infotainment system (up to 9-inch units) and a new instrument cluster. Toyota is offering a legendary variant with a 360-degree parking camera, a wireless charging pad, and a powered tailgate with sweep-to-open features.

Toyota's current model has priced between Rs 28.66 lakh and Rs 34.43 lakh. (Ex-showroom Delhi). The Facelifted Fortuner is sure to be more expensive than the current model. Competitors include Ford Endeavor, MG Gloucester, and Mahindra Alturas G4.
