Compass is the most popular model in India for the iconic American automaker Jeep. The new version of the vehicle is all set to arrive in India. Auto Car India reports that the new Compass will hit the market on January 7, 2021. It is reported that Jeep tweeted about this. The teaser video also gives some hints about the changes that can be expected in Compass.
The new Compass was unveiled by Jeep at the Guangzhou International Motor Show. & nbsp; This is the most important facelift of the SUV since its second-generation debut in 2016. According to the teaser, the China-spec compass will arrive in India with some changes. It is reported that the Jeep will be modified and updated with some components instead of significant loose work. The SUV comes with minor changes like the new front bumper, slimmer grille, and LED headlamps. The SUV may get a new 3-spoke steering wheel and digital instrument cluster.
The Compass Facelift may retain older engines. It is powered by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 350 Nm of torque at 170 bhp and a 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine that produces 161 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with a standard six-speed manual gearbox. The new Compass is also rumored to be powered by a 1.3-liter turbo petrol engine.
The length and height of the compass facelift have been increased to 29 mm and 17 mm, respectively. The wheelbase remains at 2636mm. The main attraction of the facelift version is the seven-box front grille finished in chrome. The interior of the vehicle comes with a redesigned dashboard with a floating 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit with Amazon Alexa support, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connectivity.
Compass arrived in India on July 31, 2017, changing the face of the Indian auto market. More than 70 per cent of the construction of the Compass has been completed locally at the Ranjangovan plant in Pune. Compass is a vehicle that has become a huge hit in a short span of time. Compass also made history in sales, including crash tests and gigantic performances.
Compass is available in Sport, Sport Plus, Longitude, Limited, and Limited Plus variants. Compass also has special editions such as Compass Bedrock, Compass Black Pack, and TrailHawk. The BS6 version of the vehicle was launched recently.
Currently, the Jeep Compass is priced between Rs 16.49 lakh and Rs 24.99 lakh ex-showroom. The price will naturally increase for the upgraded model. Earlier, there were reports that dealers were starting to accept bookings for the new model.
