Japanese automaker Honda has launched its 11th generation Civic sedan in the global market. According to Auto Car India, the car will make its debut in the North American market.
The new Honda Civic is reportedly very similar to the prototype unveiled in November last year. The wide and low nature of the design continues. & nbsp; Compared to the current model, the new Civic is 32mm longer. The length, width and height of the new Honda Civic are 4,673 mm, 1,800 mm and 1,414 mm, respectively. Wheelbase increased by 35mm. & nbsp; The wheelbase is 2,735mm. When the width was increased by one millimeter, the height was reduced by 19 mm. Boot capacity reduced to 100 liters. It is now 419 liters.
The front received LED daytime running lights with integrated and horizontally mounted LED headlamps and a body-colored grille. The front design is inspired by the new generation Honda HRV model. The front was given a new bumper with a large black fog lamp housing. The shoulder line provided along the entire length of the body merged into the wraparound taillamps. On the back, you can see LED taillights that are simply given a long, steep incline. The bumper and tailgate are new. The current model got the liftback styling while the new model was given the original sedan profile on the back.
The heart is the 2.0 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. The engine produces 160 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 186 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. The higher variants will be powered by a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol engine. The motor produces 182 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 240 Nm of torque at 1,700 rpm. The transmission in both engines is a CVT automatic gearbox. The new Civic sedan comes standard with the 'Honda Sensing' package that includes driving assistance and safety features.
The interior of the new model is also different. Most multimedia functions have been incorporated into the high-resolution screen, which is 7 to 9 inches in size. The infotainment system is compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Touring variant is powered by a 10.2-inch fully digital instrument console. The other variants got a 7-inch screen. Other features include a wireless charger for smartphones and a 'Bose' sound system with twelve speakers. Most of the buttons on the car are omitted. Buttons are now only available to control air conditioning, blinkers, multimedia and electronic handbrake.
